Hide and Seek Illustration

I had been drawing all day for a new picture book and decided to sketch a tree house after dinner. The house was quiet – my favourite time of the day night.

Sometimes I feel like I’m a curious  onlooker watching random scribbling evolve into little scenes. I start with a scribble, suggesting a tree, and a couple hours later I had a cute sketch. Itching to colour it, I scanned it in first thing today early and finished it off before work hours. Then back to the book.

As I am thinking in terms of gift cards for my challenge, I went with a birthday theme. Master 8  asked to have this for his birthday card this year which was pretty cool. He particularly loves to see each painting or drawing I do and often I am the privileged receiver of his amazing art.

As a little girl, I was encouraged as a child to hand make gifts. I still get to do it as a grown up sometimes too.

    1. Thank you Jarm. I do think so. I am enjoying the card challenge even at this very busy time.
