Inktober Day9: Woof Doof

Inktober Gallery and Ink Darwing In A New Book!

A month of Inktober brings new ideas to the table.

Inktober challenge and ink drawings

And that means new projects, colouring pages and illustrations. I’m not talking about the initial Inktober drawings but what develops from them!

Inktober is the perfect excuse for another drawing series. Last month I sketched Facebook followers’ photos, creating an assortment of funky illustrations (see here) but as you see below the ink drawings for Inktober have well and truly begun. I’m following only one rule for Inktober; all drawings must be in ink. I am giving myself the freedom to draw anything I want but have stumbled on new colouring pages for my next book – bonus!

Tick-tock, tic-tock – stop that clock!

If I hadn’t set monthly challenges the drawing wouldn’t have been accomplished. Around publication time it is easy for everything else to get dropped and nothing creative done. Wearing so many hats is a balancing act; one I have had to work on constantly.

Hundreds of pre-orders and correspondence for my new colouring book have bombarded my inbox. I’ve been frantically fine-tuning correspondence so it doesn’t take every waking hour of my time. My kids are flagging my time too, filling my diary to overflow as the last school term becomes chaotic – and then there’s all the personal events this term!

How do I do it? Lots of coffee, prayer and deep breaths! This work-at-home mum is already looking forward to her January break big time! I have been working on decluttering and simplifying my life of late though. I do believe the things I am putting in pace will make a big difference and happy to share should my readers be interested.

News!

It has been a long time coming but Positively Quote Colouring Book has arrived. I have posted out and most have received their pre-orders. Now it is time to fill the stores so ask your local bookstore to order them in please!? More details on this and the official launch in another post.
